Financial Storyverse® and Count Jargon® from Sketch to Trademark


For too long, finance has felt like a world of confusion. A place where numbers blur into jargon and people feel left behind.


That journey of change begins in my upcoming book, Once Upon a Balance Sheet.


The book is more than a guide to financial statements. It is the doorway into the Financial Storyverse®.


And like every world, it needed characters to guide the way.


The first was Count Jargon®.


When I first sketched him, he looked like a simple cartoon. Some people saw only doodles.

But to me, he was always more than that.


Within Once Upon a Balance Sheet, Count Jargon® takes on his true role as the Slayer of Jargon — the character who clears away confusion so people can finally see what the numbers are really saying.


Together with him, the Financial Storyverse® is home to five characters. Each with their own role to play.Together, they create a place where leaders, teams, and learners can see finance with fresh eyes.


Count Jargon® guides readers across the Sea of Jargon on a money magic carpet, landing on the Nine Islands of Knowledge until they finally reach the World of Illumination.


And what is that world?


It is the place where finance is no longer a blur of numbers, but totally clear.


Where numbers connect to business impact. Where finance is not just simpler, but deeper, actionable, and unforgettable.



Gaining Official Recognition


Last week, the journey of Financial Storyverse® and Count Jargon® from sketch to trademark has taken a defining step forward. They became officially registered trademarks in Singapore.


It means they are recognised as original, protected as unique, and given the space to grow into something far bigger than a sketch on paper.


Even the smallest drawing can carry weight if it holds an idea that changes the way we see.
